Well, I think the spam problem on 60 in 3 is solved. We’re still getting about 100 spam comments a day but the filter seems to be stopping them all. ease let me know if you see any slip through and thank you for your patience. I never meant for 60 in 3 to be more than just a fun way to talk about fitness but I suppose I have to take some things seriously.

And with that, here are some articles that I thought you might find useful:

I’ve had a few people asking for my opinion about the Wii fitness program. It seems to be a fun way to get people up and exercising. I thought about reviewing it but I don’t have a Wii myself which means no first hand information. However, I recently found this interesting article from MTV player blog of all places which included a good review of the program. I like this quote from the article “Ultimately, Wii Fit is not the all-encompassing fitness package that people might think it is. Fitness isn’t just about these things in the game, but it’s about proper lifestyle, proper diet, stretching, I don’t think I would recommend this as someone’s sole way of getting fit, but I think that this is definitely a way to pique people’s interest — getting people to transition from sitting on the couch to being interested in exercise.”

Here is yet another article, from Michigan Online this time, that talks about the benefits of a healthy workplace. I can’t emphasize this enough, we spend a huge portion of our lives at work, which means being healthy in the workplace should be a number one priority for us and for our employers. A healthy employee is more productive and costs less to upkeep. That goes straight to the bottom line which means a smart company is also a healthy company.

And yet another article outlining the connection between health and work, this time from Reuters. If you’re a manager, perhaps this is something you should be thinking about. With rising healthcare costs, it’s certainly not something companies can ignore forever.

Strangely enough, one of the best things you can do for your fitness is get enough rest. Here’s an article from our friends down under at the Australian who talk about the correlation between sleep and obesity. I first read this article because the headline grabbed my attention, but there’s a lot of good stuff in here.

And finally, I used to have a friend who claimed he and his wife had a “couple weight”. This couple weight was constant and never changed. The only thing that changed was who carried it. So if his wife lost weight, he gained it and vice versa. Well, if you and your partner are in the same boat, you may appreciate this list from Nerds Do It Better (love the name!) It’s a list of tips for couples who want to get fit together. Read it and enjoy.
