Weekend Roundup - Bouncy Bouncy Edition
I spent an hour yesterday bouncing on the trampolines at Sky High. I now promise to never laugh at anyone who tell me they work out on the trampoline. I always thought trampolines were kids toys and not workout gear, but wow did last night kick my butt. Plus, playing dodgeball on a trampoline is a ton of fun! If you’re in the bay area or if you have something like Sky High in your area, give it a try. I’m definitely going to add it to my list of fun alternative workouts.
And with that, here are some articles from this week I thought you might find interesting.
Here’s another article to show to your boss or HR department. It’s from the Houston Chronicle and talks about a healthy workplace being a productive workplace. I don’t think a company should encourage fitness and health just because of their responsibility to their employees, I think they should do it because it makes good business sense. For a relatively low investment, you can get employees who are happier and more productive plus save on health care costs. What company wouldn’t want that?
@The Houston Chronicle
Last week I linked you an excellent article from Mark’s Daily Apple about fats, well this week Mark has one that talks about Carbs. Mark has a harsher view point on simple carbs than I do, but we both agree that refined carbs are bad for you. If there’s one thing that should be reduced in everyone’s diets, it’s excess refined carbs like white bread and pastas, sugary sodas and candy.
@Mark’s Daily Apple
And as a quick follow up to Mark’s article, here’s on from the Nutrition Research Blog that talks about an interesting celebrity reverse diet. Odd fact, when a celebrity wanted to gain 30lbs real quick, they ate a lot of pasta. What does that tell you about that Italian food you just scarfed down?
@Nutrition Research
And another one from the Nutrition Research blog. This one is not quite so serious but still really useful. Rather than diet or fitness, it discusses a topic that many of us have struggled with for years, bad breath. Ever wondered what makes breath stink and what might help? Well, read this article and wonder no more.
@Nutrition Research
Last but not least, I give you the list of the 20 worst foods in America. Take a look and you’ll never wonder again why we have such a problem with obesity in this country.
@Men’s Health

Hi,
