Sorry about the lateness of this post. This weekend has been very busy with absolutely nothing at all. My wife and I decided to take a quite weekend together so I haven’t spent much time online. However, I did find a few articles you might be interested in:

From Reuters we have this interesting article about the benefits of weight loss to the health of our heart. I think we all know that losing weight through a healthy eating plan and exercise is good for our hearts, but it’s nice to have some detailed proof.

This is actually an older article, but since we talked about caffeine this week, I thought you might find this Duke University study about the links between caffeine and diabetes an interesting read. I’ll say it again, caffeine is a drug with several harmful side effects. Consuming it is your choice, but make it an informed decision, not an ignorant one.

I found the movie Supersize me to be fascinating. It’s all about the effects of a 30 day, McDonald’s only diet on a person’s health. However, one of the things that someone pointed out to me was that the star of the movie made TWO changes to his life. First, he ate only McDonald’s and second, he stopped exercising. Apparently, my friend wasn’t the only one who noticed this. Here’s an article about someone who ate McDonald’s only but kept exercising. The results are surprising although please remember that this is not a scientific study. I don’t recommend McDonald’s for food, but I do agree with the article that exercise is more important than diet.

From the chaps across the Atlantic, we have this fascinating article about how your loved ones can be your worst enemy when it comes to good health. I recommend everyone read this one, especially if you have someone in your family who is struggling with their weight or health. Remember, health is 90% motivation and your loved ones can be your best source of positive or negative motivation. Please remember to encourage those around you as they strive for good health.
@The Telegraph

And let’s finish things off with another article related to one of my previous posts. This one is a very good companion to last week’s post about stretching. This particular article is from the Boston Globe, and it gives a neat first person perspective on stretching. I’m still meaning to try Yoga one of these days, assuming my work travel schedule ever calms down.
