I’ve spent the last couple of days cleaning up the carpet at our old place in preparation of new tenants moving in. I have to say, I never want to live in another place with carpets again! Oh wow, the stuff that was buried in there was disgusting. And before you say it, yes, we did clean and vacuum on a regular basis. It’s hardwood floors and tiles for me from now on.
And now, let’s take a look at some interesting articles around the web:
From FatBloggers we have this interesting article about a man who decided to quit his diet. Sounds bad until you realize that this man decided to switch from the temporary fad diets to a simple but healthy way of living. I’m a big advocate of this. Stop thinking of your health as a temporary diet. Stop trying the latest fad. Just live a healthy life and you’ll see your weight change gradually but permanently.
@FatBloggers
And here’s a matching article from GetFitSource that discusses research about dieting and weightloss. Turns out, weightloss from most diets is almost always temporary. Guess what, you can’t achieve permanent results from a temporary change. Seems obvious but most people don’t understand that.

On a different topic, BloggingAwayFat has this great piece about the different types of fat and how to remember them. With all the acronyms and buzz words floating around these days, this might be a good idea.

And if we’re talking about good nutrition, lets finish it off with some tips from the Diet Blog about good foods to get healthy carbs and protein from.

Thanks for the mention
I have to agree with you that carpet cleaning is not much fun at all. When we moved into our home, we found hardwood floors under the carpet we ripped up and instead of refinishing the floors - we installed new carpet. With a youngin’ in the house, we would have been better off with the hardwood floors.
Definitely stick with the hardwood floors.
In the house I just left, there were hardwood floors on the bottom floor. As much dirt and stuff as was on them, it was nothing compared to the stuff that came up from the carpets upstairs, and the downstairs had a lot more traffic.
Hey, thanks for mentioning us. Actually, the “man” you were speaking of is our newest and sole female contributor, Lady Rose. That is definitely one of my favorite posts on FatBloggers.net.
Oops, sorry Rick. You would think someone with the name of Gal would know better than to assume someone else’s gender.
