Weekend Roundup - Packing up edition
My apologies for the slightly delayed post, I spent most of the weekend packing up everything I own in preparation for a move. Next weekend we move into our new home, which means this week should be fun as we try to carry on our daily lives without breaking into any of the boxes.
This week was another nice week for 60 in 3.
SVB decided to feature my article about farmer’s market in his finance carnival. I like reading his articles since he’s also based in the Silicon Valley and quite a few of his posts are about this area.

The Family Finance blog chose to feature the same article in their carnival. I guess money and health go together for a lot of people.

Finally, over at the Biggest Loser forums, they chose to feature this article about bad eating habits in their weight loss carnival.

And now for some interesting articles from this week:
The folks over at Get Fit Source have posted an article about the connection between obesity and genetics. I thought it was a fitting compliment to my article from Wednesday, It’s not my fault, I have fat genes. Take a look at the research they discuss and then read people’s opinion to it. I believe there is some connection between your family and your weight, but it’s a connection you can control.

From Wise Bread, we have an article about quitting caffeine. I can’t emphasize enough what a tremendous difference this little change has made in my life. I get more sleep, I’m more awake during the day and my overall health seems to be better. Take the plunge now and get yourself off caffeine. You won’t regret it.

This one is a submission from one of our regular readers here at 60 in 3. It’s a great site for finding exercises and workouts. I urge you to explore this site if you’re trying to design a workout. You’ll find a lot of great exercise ideas and might even learn something about your body in the process.

And finally, from the diet blog, we have this article about the health benefits of being vegetarian. The Diet Blog shows that eating vegetables isn’t always healthier than eating meat. However, I disagree with their methodology. They use fast food as an example which I think is flawed. There’s is nothing healthy at a fast food place, vegetarian or not. Still, they do have a point, just because you cut down on meat doesn’t mean you’re healthier. You could exist on a diet of twinkies and coke and still call yourself a vegetarian.
